Railings are common safety features in buildings, primarily used to protect personal safety and equipment. They play a crucial role in residential areas, commercial districts, and public places, especially in high-traffic areas such as hospitals and schools, where their installation is indispensable.

1. Flat installation requirements for glass railings: Tempered glass or laminated glass must be used. The thickness of tempered glass should not be less than 12mm. The glass should not be in direct contact with rigid joints; elastic padding should be used. When designing, if a double-sided embedded glass railing is used, a gap of at least 3mm should be left on both sides of the glass, filled with glass sealant.

2. Installation requirements for the base posts of glass railings: When glass is used instead of posts, a gap of approximately 8mm should be left between the glass panels. A gap of approximately 8mm should also be left at the intersection of the glass and other materials, filled with sealant. The base is a key part for fixing the railing; it is usually made of angle steel processed into assembled sections and securely connected to the floor or pre-embedded components.

3.Balcony Height: According to the "Residential Building Design Code," the actual height of balcony railings in low-rise and multi-story residential buildings should not be less than 1.05m, and the net height of balcony railings in mid-rise and high-rise residential buildings should not be less than 1.10m.

4.Balcony Railing Design: Balcony railings should prevent children from climbing. The clear distance between vertical members should not exceed 0.11m. Fall prevention measures must be taken where flower pots are placed. When the clear width of the stairwell exceeds 0.11m, measures must be taken to prevent children from climbing and slipping.

5.Clear Distance Between Vertical Members of Railings and Handrails: This should not exceed 0.11m to prevent children from crawling through.

6.Installation of Embedded Parts: The quantity, specifications, location, and connection points between the railing and embedded parts should meet design and specification requirements to ensure a firm and secure installation.
